How To Cook A Turkey

Here is a simple way to prepare your turkey. There are lots of ways that cooks and Chefs are adding flavours and getting creative. What we know for sure is that starting with a great quality turkey is key. It’s where you’ll get the best flavour! This is a super simple approach, and a great place to start if you’re new to cooking a turkey:

  • When deciding how big of a Turkey to purchase the rule of thumb is to buy 1-1/2lbs of turkey per guest (that considers the bones).  And don’t forget to plan for leftovers!

  • Heat the over to 350.

  • Cook the turkey for 13 minutes per lb if unstuffed and 15 minutes per lb if stuffed. For example, an unstuffed 15lb turkey will take about 3 hours and 15 minutes.

  • Check the temperature and when the thickest part of the thigh is 165 it’s done.  Always use a meat thermometer!  This will 100% prevent overcooking and a dry turkey dinner.

  • Let the turkey rest for at least 15 minutes to absorb the juices before carving.

  • Enjoy!
